Dr. Jaimie Nathan's Program in Abdominal Transplantation and Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery
Conducts clinical and translational research within a general area decided upon in conjunction with a Principal Investigator; prepares position papers and research reports; assists in the preparation of scientific publications and research grant proposals; prepares budget proposals for conducting research studies.
**This is not a lab-based position and is a clinical and translational research position**
Responsibilities
- Conducts clinical and translational research studies and data analysis of clinical data and samples in conjunction with Dr. Jaimie Nathan
- Performs job duties through appropriate hospital and research institute procedures.
- Collects and analyzes data in accordance with appropriate statistical procedures, and prepares reports, inclusive of graphs, tables and photographs of the results of studies.
- Collaborates and interacts with other researchers doing similar studies at NCH (including within the Center for Surgical Outcomes Research) and at other research institutions.
- Prepares research summaries, papers, oral presentations, and posters about research studies including information about challenges encountered in setting up and conducting research studies.
- Assists in the preparation of scientific publications and grants with regard to a specific area of research. Attends scientific conferences and gives scientific presentations. Serves as a resource person for other investigators within the context of specific projects and as a mentor to less experienced research personnel.
- Prepares budget proposals for supplies and equipment needed to conduct research. Monitors study expenditures to assure that budgetary constraints are followed.
- Performs miscellaneous related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree and proven skills and experience in clinical/translational research and data analysis.
- We are seeking talented and self-motivated candidates with a good work ethic, and a strong interest in pediatric transplantation and hepatopancreatobiliary diseases.
- Candidates with background and experience in pediatric transplantation and hepatopancreatobiliary diseases and research data analysis are preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must be able to use research methods in generating and collecting data and analyzing the data for report preparation.
Percent of time spent on:
- 80% Conducting clinical and translational research studies and collecting and analyzing data
- 15% working with clinical coordinators.
- 5% Resource person for other investigators
